A couple weeks ago I felt compelled to take a walk down the road from where I live. There were people visiting my family but I simply felt I needed to go for a walk. As I left I grabbed a bucket in case I saw some interesting rocks along the way. After walking awhile, I felt it was time to cross the road. As I got to the other side of the road, I looked down and there before we was “the perfect rock.” Around here, rocks are typically odd shaped with rough mineral deposits on one side. This rock though was different. It was perfectly round and had a smooth flat surface. I was thrilled! It felt as if God led me there – to where He planted this wonderful rock just for me. What a splendid gift! I wanted to be sure I painted the rock in a way that showed its natural beauty. So instead of painting the whole thing to look like a snake, I chose instead to do a subtle design that highlighted the natural color and texture of the rock. I personally love the end result. It’s perfect.
