Why are all mermaid's depicted as white?
I often wonder why there are so few paintings done of minorities. For exampe – most every mermaid you see is white with long blonde hair. I like to do things differently so decided to do a mermaid painting featuring an African American. I think it turned out beautifully. When I was younger I wished I could have dark skin. I’ve gotten used to my pale skin – somewhat. I still wish it were darker.
