Wishing for Spring

My favorite season is Spring. The sun feels so good after a long cold winter. The air is softer and smells sweeter. And plants that lay dormant all winter long begin to grow. The colors of Spring are bright and cheerful and animals begin to poke their noses out of hiding. This painting expresses all that. I love daffodils. I remember trying to draw a daffodil when I was a kid. It was hard! Daffodils have such a distinct shape and are very dimensional in their appearance. I kinda questioned my ability to paint them but knew I wanted to try. I’m glad I did – otherwise I would never have known that I could.
