Frustration

Some of the most popular painted rocks out there are of furry animals. Painting fur frustrates me terribly! I am such a controlled painter that I have a very difficult time doing “flluffy” or “whispy”.  Soft textures are hard for me to replicate. This tiger took me a long time to do because of all its darn fur – I’d start doing it one way, figure out it didn’t look right and have to start over. There are parts of it I like, and parts of it I wish I could have done better. I think that is actually true with a lot of my paintings – but at some point I have to tell myself to quit or I’ll mess it up completely. Sometimes saying, “It’s good enough” isn’t such a bad thing.
