I am still trying to figure out this blog thing so have patience with me. I am also trying to figure out what in the heck my painting “style” is – so many artists you can look at their work and you know immediately who painted it. I don’t seem to have a particular style and it frustrates me sometimes. I do all kinds of styles of art from realism to abstract. I enjoy them all really. But sometimes I feel that in order to be a real recognized artist I need to have a specific style. It drives me crazy! The one thing I do know about my art is that I usually end up with bright colors and my work is usually VERY controlled, very detail oriented. But is that a style? Aaaargh! I don’t know why it bothers me so much – perhaps because I like to be defined in some way. Like “You know amylenore’s work don’t you, its (fill in the blank)” Perhaps it doesn’t matter to anyone else, but for some reason it really matters to me.
